Josiah is a former football star of Makutano. His career was brought to an abrupt end when he sustained a knee injury.

Now he is a long distance lorry driver and is Anna’s husband. He has an insatiable appetite for sex and money, which is why he has so many children with Anna. Anna fears that he sleeps with prostitutes when he’s on the road; this makes her scared that she’ll one day catch the HIV virus from him. He’s an out and out chauvinist – a frustrated man.
